These gloves are great, depending upon what you plan to use them for.

First, these are made in a soft and comfortable leather. This is a good leather that does not stink with use. The leather is flexible and moves well with the hand. There is an opening under the palm area and slight sewn cuts under each finger joint (to keep flexible and remove sweat).

One of the best features of this glove is that it lacks a curl bar in the palm area – this means you can completely close your fists for striking! Most bag gloves will train you to strike with an un-tightened and open fist (not this one).

There is thick and effective padding on the knuckles, top of hand and even some cushion around the wrist (thanks to a Velcro double wrap).

All in all, for some bag-work and variety of striking these gloves will enable proper form and protect hands from damage. These are comfortable and small enough that they in no way feel bulky or foreign. For light grappling and ground-work these should wear well enough.

I imagine that for very heavy MMA work and ground-fighting, the leather would simply not hold up and you should opt for the vinyl versions.
