This mount works great for what it is. Please be aware that for $70 you are not going to get super strength or sealed ball bearings. However it hangs my 100lb heavy bag and tolerates my punching and kicking just fine, and when I need the space it swings the bag out of the way just as advertised. Is a good product at a good price.

Mounting: I would have to seriously question the intelegence of someone that would try to mount this straight to a sheetrock wall. To stand up to a swinging 100lb bag is going to require some re-enforcement. Get a four foot 2×10 from your local lumber store and cut two 20 inch long pieces. Position the supports so that the TKO (top and bottom) brackets will be centered on the wood. This means the outside holes will line up verticly between the screws that mount the wood to the wall. Mount these supports to the wall studs with four 3/8″ x 4″ lag screws and washers per board. You should have about 2″ of wood extended beyond the wall studs and screws for strength. Mount the TKO with 3/8″ x 4″ lag screws in the outside holes and 3/8″ x 2″ lag screws (and washers) in the inside holes. You will want to pre-drill all these holes so you are not splitting the wood. This is how I did it, and my TKO mount does NOT flex at all.

I have been looking for a convienient way to hang my 100lb heavy bag. This mount is very sturdy, I used concrete anchors and hung it on my basement wall. I would bet that it could hold well over 100lbs. I think that limitation is based on hanging it on normal 2×4 wall studs.

Overall great product, but caution it doesn’t come with bolts/screws to hang it, you have to visit your local hardware store for that stuff.

Then when your all done hitting the bag you can just swing it out of the way.

This product works great. I was worried after reading some of the other reviews, but after I installed it, I no longer have any concerns. First of all, if you install this into studs and it rips out of the wall, you either didn’t install it into studs, or you have bad wood. Either way, it’s not the fault of this product. I was lucky because I put it in my garage and the studs are exposed, but a simple $8 stud finder from the store should help you put it in the right place. I also put some 4×4 between the studs going horizontally behind the two bars for added support, but I didn’t really feel that this was necessary. I also liked how it locked into place in both the storage mode and use mode using a simple spring pull pin.

There were some things I didn’t like though. It doesn’t come with the bolts to install into the wall. You have to wait for it to arrive, then go to Home Depot and buy the proper lag bolts (I think they were 1/2 or 5/8, I don’t remember. I wouldn’t go smaller than 2.5 inches long). Then, you have to drill holes in the wall (make sure the holes are significantly smaller than the lag bolts, or your stand will just fall out of the wall). Then put the lag bolts in the hole. It’s simple to install and fast. Secondly, I would have liked to have a third support bar above the the arm that holds the bag. The more support the better, especially when you are hanging something around 100 lbs that is going to have force tugging it in different directions. Also, I didn’t like how there are extra holes that don’t line up with studs. The two support bars have two holes on either side that go into studs, and then there are two more on either side of the rotating arm. These would just go into drywall or nothing and I don’t think they would provide any additional support, just leave holes in your wall. Like I said, what I did was put a couple 4x4s along the back of the support bars and then I could drill some more lag bolts into the wall into my new makeshift studs, but that would only work if your studs are exposed, which in most cases, they are probably not.

Bottom line, it’s a great product and a great price. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s certainly better than those stands. With the stands, you can’t circle the bag as much, which is crucial.

I followed the advice of another buyer on here, getting the extra wood for support, and using the 2″ and 4″ lag screws to secure the bracket/wood to the wall studs. It took considerably longer than I expected, getting the alignment right, etc. Once finished mounting it, it seemed pretty sturdy/secure.

I used a 70 lb bag, and noticed minimal movement during the first 5 minutes of my first workout. I stopped to check and make sure it wasn’t gradually coming loose (pulling on it with my hands), and everything still seemed fine.

At that point, I upped the tempo a little bit and the bag began swinging a bit more. Within 2-3 minutes, itt came completely off the wall (boards, screws, bracket and all)!

So far this unit has held up well; however, I noticed that they sell a better unit for about $10 more. The other unit is more robust and would have been a better option. This unit works well but you will need to mount it on boards to provide a more secure installation. I installed mine on (2) 2″x10″x68″ boards and lag bolted the boards to the four studs that they crossed. In this way the weight is better distributed and no solely focused across just two studs.
