Invest in a pair of thick leather bag gloves with quality padding, rather than a vinyl pair. Vinyl gloves are not as sturdy as leather ones. Get some quality hand wraps to go with the gloves. These go under the gloves, tight on the hands. And provide extra padding. They also prevent the knuckles from rubbing on the inside of the gloves and breaking the skin.
