Sometimes a kick in the nuts is the best way to get your point across. Especially when you are being harassed or attacked by someone. A guy’s groin is the quickest way to disable an attacker (any guy who’s ever come crashing down on the crossbar of his bicycle knows that.) But unless you execute a groin kick for self defense correctly, your mistake that can actually end up hurting you, as you will have missed or kicked ineffectively and now your attacker will be even more pissed off. Here are 4 techniques you must use if you’re going to attempt to bring a guy down with a kick to the groin.
Self Defense Groin Kick Secret #1: Get Up Close and Personal!
When you let loose your kick to your attackers family jewels, don’t be too far away! As men, we have a sixth sense that sets off an internal alarm when someone is going to let us have it in the nuts. So if you’re too far away, your attacker or harasser will intuit or even see it coming and be able to avoid the kick as an instinctive reaction.
Self Defense Groin Kick Secret #2: Watch Out For A Headbutt!
Self defense groin kicks use a “linear” approach that places the kicker directly in front of their attacker. But the way a guy will naturally react when he’s hit with a kick to his privates is to bend over. If you attempt a groin kick for self defense when you’re right in front of your attacker, you are right in line to get the full force your attacker’s head as it comes crashing down. If this happens you have now unwittingly transformed your groin kick into a “headbutt” that takes YOU out of the fight. This manuever IS for self defense, not self annihilation.
Self Defense Groin Kick Secret #3: Aim High First!
You can stop the natural “headbutt” reaction by first striking high to your attacker’s body. In other words, right before you deliver the groin kick, slam the heel of your hand into his nose. Or any other upper body thrust or jab to get his attention away from your going for the groin at the same time. This also makes sure that he doesn’t see the groin kick coming and you can deliver more power in your death blow.
Self Defense Groin Kick Secret #4: Serpentine, Serpentine!
Now this one takes some practice but as you kick you shift your body slightly to the SIDE as you kick. When you execute in this way, you can actually deliver more power AND make sure you’re out of the way should your attacker’s head lurch forward.
