I have 3 pairs of old boxing gloves…I don’t have any history on them so it’s hard to say how old they are…but I’m lead to believe their about 1950ish.

  • NandoPalmira:

do you have 1920′s -40′s boxing gloves?

  • poncekid56:

Oh ok, mine have laces so it’s a must so I don’t cut my partner

  • scotch491:

I have never taped any of my gloves so I don’t know about that…the gloves that I have worn in the past for sparring have either velcro or elasticated wrist which is why I’ve not used tape.

  • poncekid56:

Nice collection, I have a question. I just bought a pair of Triumph United gloves, and after sparring I was taking the tape off around the laces and doing so some of the paint came off towards the inside of the glove. Should I be worried that these gloves are going to fall apart on me, or is that normal?

  • ColoradoBullrider:

  • JimmyWhizz:

Haha! Awesome! I thought I was the only one…God only knows how many I actually have, and I had to get rid of some when I moved…but I have a rather large collection myself that started with my first pair at 8, and then collected all the way ’til I was 11.

I have all kinds, toy gloves, keychain gloves, antique gloves, signed gloves (both personally signed and bought), professional gloves, training gloves, etc. And an even bigger assload of boxing memorabilia on top of all that.

Sadly, Dan Mosby passed away a week ago after a long illness.

  • scotch491:

I bought my first pair in Nov, 1989. I didn’t plan on making a collection at the time but by the mid 90′s I’d allready had about 15 pairs by then I started boxing training at a local gym. For about next 4 years while I was in training I didn’t collect any more. Then in 2004 after my dad died of cancer I started collecting again and now have about 50 pairs.

  • perestroikaMoska:

how did you get this so many, did you buy it? How long, plz reply
    Thx..

  • eeEErRaY:

Hey Scotch, Dan Mosby only gives out his email address and I’m in the process of sending him a message right now. He has a reputation of taking a very long time responding so we’ll see. I’ll ask him if I can give out his email adress and get back to you.

  • scotch491:

I’m sorry I’ve no idea at present where you can get florex boxing gloves from. As far as I know you certainly won’t get them here in Britain! But if I find out I will let you know.

  • eeEErRaY:

Anyone know where to get Florex Boxing gloves? They are supposedly made by Dan Mosby out of Lodi CA now but I can’t seem to find a way to contact him.

  • SmartFist:

Woah very nice, how many pairs total do you have???
